Majid Al Futtaim, the exclusive operator of Carrefour in Pakistan, has announced a significant step towards sustainability by integrating solar energy into its flagship Carrefour store located in the Fortress Stadium. The company has formalized a 950KW agreement with Maspro Energy (Pvt) Ltd, marking the first solar-powered store in its portfolio.
This move is part of Carrefour Pakistan’s commitment to creating a more sustainable future. The solar energy integration is expected to result in an annual reduction of over 560 thousand kilograms of carbon emissions. Carrefour Pakistan, known for its pioneering eco-friendly practices in the retail industry, aims to extend similar transformations to the majority of its stores, ensuring they operate on green and sustainable models by 2024.

Carrefour Pakistan, established in 2009, operates 13 strategically located stores in major cities, including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala. With a substantial investment plan of approximately 14 billion rupees, the company is committed to further expansion.
