FIFA, the global governing body of soccer, has officially announced the extension of its longstanding partnership with Qatar Airways until 2030. The Doha-based airline will continue to serve as FIFA’s global airline partner in this renewed collaboration.
As part of this extended agreement, Qatar Airways will actively engage with soccer fans during tournaments and through various digital platforms. Fans will have access to exclusive travel packages, including match tickets, flights, and accommodation for select FIFA tournaments. These offerings will be made available through a dedicated Qatar Airways platform.
The comprehensive partnership covers several prominent FIFA tournaments, spanning the 2026 and 2030 men’s World Cups, the 2027 Women’s World Cup, and all youth men’s and women’s tournaments. The collaboration began with the ongoing Under-17 World Cup in Indonesia.
Initiated in May 2017, the partnership signifies a significant bond between FIFA and Qatar Airways. The airline joins the league of six global FIFA partners, standing alongside brands like adidas, Coca-Cola, Hyundai, Wanda, and Visa.
Last week, Qatar Airways revealed another major deal, this time with Italian Serie A giants Inter Milan. The airline has been actively involved in soccer sponsorships, previously serving as a main sponsor for Paris Saint-Germain in France’s Ligue 1. Additionally, Qatar Airways had a sleeve sponsorship partnership with Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga, which concluded due to fan pressure.
This extended partnership reaffirms Qatar Airways’ commitment to global football and underlines FIFA’s strategic collaborations as it continues to shape the landscape of international soccer.
