SalamAir, Oman’s popular budget airline, has introduced a new flight route connecting Muscat International Airport to Baghdad International Airport. The service offers three flights per week, strengthening ties between Oman and Iraq.
The Iraqi Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, highlighted the significance of this development in fostering bilateral relations between the two nations. He emphasized that the direct flights are expected to open up new avenues for collaboration across various sectors, reflecting mutual trust and the shared desire to establish a strategic partnership.
The airfare for SalamAir’s Muscat to Baghdad flights is competitively priced, starting at RO97 (approximately $252).
Qais Saad al Amiri, Iraq’s ambassador to Oman, congratulated SalamAir on this new route, recognizing its potential to strengthen political, economic, cultural, and tourism ties between the two brotherly nations. He expressed hope that the air route would serve as a communication bridge and facilitate future cooperation.
Captain Mohamed Ahmed, CEO of SalamAir, expressed his excitement about the launch of the Muscat-Baghdad route. He emphasized its role in connecting two cities and symbolically bridging Oman and Iraq, promoting increased interaction and cooperation between the two countries.
