In August, Canadian private airline Zara Airways will begin direct flights from Toronto to three main cities in Pakistan. Three weekly flights will be offered from Toronto to Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore. It will initially utilise two Boeing 777 aircraft and may increase the number of aircraft based on demand. Faqir Bawar Hussain Bhakari, a Pakistani-Canadian businessman, established the new airline Zara Airways. It has formed an alliance with Shaheen Airport
Ground services, cabin employees, and other personnel services. Before beginning operations, the airline is pursuing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Canadian government.
“We are excited to offer direct flights between Canada and Pakistan,” Bhakari said at a Karachi news conference. This will make travel between the two countries simpler and more convenient for individuals.
Syed Qali, the chief executive officer of the airline, stated that the flights would accommodate a large number of passengers, including Pakistanis residing in Canada and tourists travelling to Pakistan.
“We are also in discussions with Air Canada to codeshare on some of our flights,” said Qali.
“This will give our passengers even more travel options.”
Ejaz Haroon, the former managing director of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), has joined Zara Airways as an advisor.
Haroon stated that the airline will prioritise direct flights to spare elderly passengers from long distances and connecting flights at key airports. People desire direct flights to Pakistan from Canada for their elders and families.
The establishment of Zara Airways is a boon to Pakistan’s aviation industry.
Recent developments in the country’s aviation industry are indicative of a positive transition in the country’s travel and tourism sector.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has permitted Wizz Air Abu Dhabi and SunExpress to operate flights in Pakistan in recent months.
These new airlines will increase market competition, resulting in decreased fares and enhanced passenger services.
In addition, Ethiopian Airlines has resumed direct flights between Karachi and Addis Ababa. The route had been suspended since 2004.
