Following the consent of the airline’s chief executive officer (CEO), the Essential Services (Maintenance) Act of 1952 has been implemented at Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

The Pakistan Essential Services (Maintenance) Act of 1952 was enacted by the federal government to facilitate the flight operations of PIA. The decree states that the airline’s operations have been suspended due to unpaid salaries.

It was stated that PIA employees are regarded as the country’s most vital and important resources, providing their services to keep operations running smoothly despite all financial difficulties. In addition, delayed salary payments were cited as a reason for some employees’ malafide intent to influence operations.

Using its authority, the federal government imposed the Pakistan Essential Services (Maintenance) Act of 1952 on all PIA employee classes.

It also stated that any neglect of professional responsibilities will be regarded a violation of the act, and employees will be held accountable.

According to the order, PIA is experiencing unprecedented times as a result of the economic crisis and is confronting severe cash flow constraints. The management of the airline is coordinating closely with the government to guarantee commercial operations.
