Pakistan was taken off the Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) “grey list” on Friday.
The decision was made during a meeting of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), a global organization that monitors money laundering and the financing of terrorism. The FATF meeting, which will last two days in Paris, is expected to discuss the removal of Pakistan from a list of nations that are subject to “increased monitoring”
The FATF announced in a meeting in June that it was maintaining Pakistan on the list, or “grey list” but added that it can be taken off following a site visit to assess progress.
Pakistan’s foreign ministry stated last month that a FATF technical team had a “successful” visit and that Islamabad anticipated the “logical conclusion” of the examination process in October.
