Kyrgyzstan is interested in transit commerce through Pakistan, according to Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev, and wants to use Karachi’s seaports.

He spoke at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently, asking Pakistani businesses to invest in Kyrgyzstan’s tourism and energy sectors.

“Kyrgyzstan is known for its tourism industry, and the country is mountainous for 90% of the time,” he explained.

“Investors from Islamabad should come out and invest in the hotels and resorts of Kyrgyzstan,” he added.

Furthermore, the energy sector in Kyrgyzstan has a lot of promise, and Pakistani companies can look into minor hydel power projects there.
