Bangladesh-based firm GoZayaan acquires Pakistan’s FindMyAdventure startup

GoZayaan

GoZayaan, a Bangladeshi startup, has acquired FindMyAdventure, a Pakistani traveltech firm, expanding its services beyond the country’s borders.

FindMyAdventure, a LUMS alumnus who founded the company in 2016, offers adventure excursions and collaborates with over 150 tour providers in Pakistan. It has partnered with almost 300 hotels.

The parallels between Bangladesh and Pakistan in terms of geography, internet penetration, and tourism environment were one of the key reasons for GoZayaan’s acquisition of FindMyAdventure, according to a statement.

“This agreement also supports FindMyAdventure and GoZayaan’s combined ability to improve the region’s travel and tourism infrastructure through rapid technology adoption and improved access to travel,” according to the business.

GoZayaan paid $3.5 million for the traveltech business.

The news follows GoZayaan’s January funding round, which included Nordstar Partners, DST Global Partner Saurabh Gupta, and Payback founder Alexander Rittweger.

GoZayaan raised $2.6 million in a seed round headed by Wavemaker Partners in September 2021. Ratio Ventures, 1982 VC, Iterative, and Century Oak Capital were among the other investors. Prior to this, the company received undisclosed money from Brac Osiris Impact Ventures in a pre-seed round.

Ridwan Hafiz, co-founder of Bangladesh-based digital marketing agency Analyzen, established GoZayaan in 2017.
