Uber appoints new head for Pakistan

Uber, the worldwide ride-hailing network that links drivers and passengers seamlessly, announced the hiring of Shahid Khan as the company’s new country head in Pakistan. He succeeds Saad Naveed Pall, who was appointed to general manager for the Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan (MENAP) area.

Saad will now oversee Uber’s ride-sharing company in the region’s next phase of growth, collaborating directly with in-market teams to help identify growth opportunities, establish regional objectives, and drive operational excellence to power the Uber business.

“I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished in Pakistan, leveraging the country’s existing transportation infrastructure to launch market-specific products and creating tens of thousands of economic opportunities across the country. I am now excited to continue growing Uber’s business in the Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan, to ensure that the people of this region have better access to affordable and safe travel, as well as to benefit from Uber’s technology and products,” Saad said in a statement regarding his promotion.

Shahid Khan formerly worked for the corporation as the country’s head of operations. Shahid will now lead Uber in the country, overseeing overall operations, rider recovery, driver engagement, and community partnerships, with a strong emphasis on innovation and sophisticated technologies to improve the app’s user experience.

Shahid Khan stated in response to his new role, “I’m honoured to have been given this opportunity to lead Uber in Pakistan, a region that continues to grow and prosper in terms of ride-hailing prospects.”

Shahid Khan holds a Master’s degree in business administration from INSEAD and has over 18 years of experience in a variety of responsibilities at a variety of companies, including Maersk Line, K-Electric, and Careem.
