Daraz Installed Solar Panels to Create Sustainable Environment

Daraz recently took a step towards environmental sustainability by installing solar energy panels at its Lahore location. The primary goal of this effort is to improve the environment through increasing ecosystem sustainability.

According to sources, Pakistan faces numerous barriers in its efforts to reduce carbon emissions and environmental degradation, as well as to overcome impediments to meeting the need for constructing a sustainable ecosystem. However, Daraz, as a country’s business behemoth, is deliberately acting as a responsible member of society by taking steps to lessen its carbon footprint.

Daraz effortlessly moved up to optimise energy use with the primary goal of improving the community through carbon reduction. Solar panels will help lower the anticipated carbon footprint by 104 metric tonnes per year, which is about similar to planting 176 trees.

The world is working quickly to protect the environment by cutting glasshouse gas emissions; yet, it is a proud moment for Pakistan because its domestic sectors, such as Daraz, are now committed to releasing no glasshouse gases.

According to Ahmed Tanveer, Chief Operations Officer at Daraz, “Pakistan is one of the top ten countries most impacted by climate change; significant efforts are being made at the national level to reverse this trend, and we are already seeing some results, as we have dropped from fifth to eighth in the most recent ranking.”

He continued, “As Daraz, we feel a responsibility to contribute to improving this situation and have set a goal for ourselves to reduce our carbon footprint; this project alone will help us reduce our carbon footprint by 104 metric tonnes per year, the equivalent of planting 176 trees annually.” This is one of several sustainability projects that we want to complete in the next years.”

In Pakistan, the “Clean and Green” programme has been created with the goal of enhancing the ecology. The country’s rapid population increase has posed a severe danger to the economic and environmental sustainability. Additionally, Daraz intends to convert all of its facilities to solar energy, which will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the creation of a sustainable ecosystem.
