The Citizens Foundation (TCF) and Jazz, Pakistan’s largest internet and broadband service provider, have partnered to digitally turn 1,652 TCF campuses, benefiting over 266,000 students in Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Jazz can also assist principals in collecting data more effectively by replacing outdated tablets and cell phones that operate TCF’s current School Management Application.
This three-year partnership would implement a blended learning programme, renovate computer labs, and implement a new school management system. TCF will launch a modern, cutting-edge digital literacy curriculum tailored for blended learning by renovating existing computer labs and adding 500 battery-powered audio-visual rooms. To highlight concepts outlined in textbooks, teachers will combine online instructional resources with conventional place-based teaching approaches. Additionally, the grant will train 3,584 TCF teachers on how to use this cutting-edge technology.
Syed Asaad Ayub Ahmad, President and CEO of TCF, said, “Every child deserves and is capable of receiving a 21st-century education.” For several years, we have been experimenting with ways to use technology to help learning. Jazz’s funding arrives at the ideal time for us to implement innovative ideas that serve as a blueprint for what is possible in Pakistan.”
“Our support for TCF over the years has been focused on the mutually beneficial goal of providing youth with a high-quality education and skill set that is compatible with the modern age. We are assisting TCF in completing its digital transformation in order to provide a comprehensive learning experience that is meaningful, useful, and fosters the development of digital-age skills,” added Syed Fakhar Ahmed, Jazz’s Chief Corporate & Regulatory Affairs Officer.
Motivated by a desire to digitally empower youth and assist the Pakistani government in achieving its Digital Pakistan vision, Jazz continues to pool its resources and skills in order to develop long-term, sustainable solutions and collaborations that benefit both individuals and the wider community.
