The meeting was presided over by Asad Umar, the Federal Minister for Planning, Growth, and Special Initiatives, who reviewed progress on the creation and groundbreaking of the Rashakai Prioritized Special Economic Zone under the CPEC System.
Provincial Finance Minister KP, Taimur Khan Jhagra, as well as senior officials from the federal and provincial governments, attended the meeting.
Officials briefed the meeting on the progress of work at the SEZ. The camp office had been constructed on the site, and the first industrial unit had begun construction within the Zone, according to reports.
More than 2,000 investors have expressed interest in setting up shop in the SEZ, which is a good sign. In order to allocate adequate space within the Zone, each of these applications will be processed in a transparent manner.
