Hundreds of projects have been launched to promote the IT industry as part of the PSEB’s “Tech DestiNation Pakistan” initiative. The aim is to provide facilities and training opportunities for IT professionals and companies, as well as to attract domestic and foreign investors.
In Swat, Bannu, Quetta, Faisalabad, Karachi, and Sukkur, work on building a network of information technology parks is continuing, with 40 parks developed through a public-private partnership.
Technology parks in Gilgit and Hyderabad, according to Amin ul Haq, were making millions of dollars within months of their establishment.
Meanwhile, PC-1 aims to provide rental incentives to 25 small-town information technology parks. “The foundation stone for the establishment of IT parks in Karachi and Islamabad at a total cost of Rs44 billion will be laid soon,” the minister added.
