For start-ups, developing a suitable business model that helps meet COVID-19 goals has been a challenging fact. However, this has not deterred Pakistan’s E-commerce industry; rather, it has generated investment opportunities in key marketplaces/services and platforms. Recently, a private American investment company called “Strategic Insights Group (SIG)” saw an opportunity in Chahyay, an online furniture e-commerce store serving the Pakistani market, after seeing the potential in the entrepreneurial room in Pakistan.
Chahyay, known as one of Pakistan’s most creative and fast-growing furniture brands, offers furniture ranging from beds and dressing tables to study tables and mattresses at the lowest prices of any online furniture shop, without neglecting their ability of over 200+ vetted and trained local Pakistani vendors, covering all categories of furniture and home accessories. Customers can buy without fear of their personal details being exchanged because the company is focused on delivering an excellent customer service as well as highly secure digital payment options.
Chahyay has a highly professional logistics team that can deliver items as small as couch cushions to as large as complete furniture sets to any location in Pakistan, all while maintaining the highest quality labour from skilled local Pakistani craftsmen. All Chahyay products comply with international high quality control standards developed by qualified professionals. In order to expand further, the e-commerce marketplace will launch a mobile application that will focus on Augmented Reality, which will enable consumers to digitally position furniture in their homes, making their shopping experience more pleasant and offering a whole new user experience.
“Our mission is to create a new industry standard focused on an excellent customer experience using advanced technology solutions combined with local trusted expertise,” the Chahyay team claimed in response to the acquisition. We plan to extend our operations and product offerings across Pakistan, and ultimately globally, once this standard is in place.”
Chahyay was created by two young entrepreneurs in Lahore, Pakistan, in 2018. They were able to successfully create an online e-commerce marketplace for high quality Pakistani manufactured furniture over the course of 18 months, and they were able to deliver these goods to customers all over Pakistan by establishing a nationwide logistics network. SIG invested in Chahyay’s expansion in late 2020, and their management team has been hard at work transforming the company’s business model to scale up and across verticals. SIG sees a bright future for e-commerce in Pakistan, and has confirmed that they are looking into several investment opportunities with Pakistani startups.
