The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMA Pakistan) has declared that Zia-ul-Mustafa Awan, ICMA FCMA President for the term 2021-2023, will be re-elected.
As President of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) for the year 2020, Zia has comprehensive leadership experience in national and international professional accounting organisations and forums.
He is currently the Chair of the South Asian Federation of Accountants’ Committee of Governmental and Public Sector Accounting Enterprises and a member of the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants’ Public Sector Financial Management Committee (PSFMC).
He has a strong view of the role played by accountants in national economic development. In the private sector and public sectors, he has over 25 years of experience. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited, Ignite National Technology Fund and the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance and has experience and visibility. In the culture, he is well known for the steps taken to strengthen and enhance the accounting profession.
Under the leadership of Zia ul Mustafa, the Institute has achieved sustainable development, internationalisation, established and conducted remote access online exams, enhanced legal advantages and recognition of its members, updated curriculum and examination systems in accordance with international education standards, compliance with IFAC SMOs at the highest level, digital process transformation
ICMA Pakistan has twice received the FPCCI Excellence Award for excellent education, training & development facilities during its tenure. He assumes that development will continue and the Institute will hit new heights of success in the 2021-2023 period.
The appointment of Shehzad Ahmed Malik as Vice President, Shaham Ahmed as Honorary Secretary, and Ather Saleem as Honorary Treasurer of the Institute has been announced by the Institute. Anis-Ur-Rehman, FCMA, Khawaja Ehrar Ul Hassan, FCMA, Khalid Mehmood, FCMA and Awais Yasin, FCMA, are also members of the National Council for the years 2021-2023.
