Today, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Smeda) organised an entrepreneurship seminar for the youth to encourage them to begin their own start-ups to earn a decent living by leveraging the Shangla’s potential in tourism and fruit sectors.

On the occasion, Dr Arshad Ali at the opening of the seminar highlighted the purpose of the seminar as inspiring young entrepreneurs.

He said in the era of technology, youth had numerous opportunities for starting their own enterprises to earn a decent living and build employment opportunities for the unemployed people around them, including women.

Mr Ali said because of a high unemployment rate among youth, women, and the general job market a large number of youth were unemployed. He noted that job seekers are always frustrated because they aren’t able to find work suited to them.

“Instead of searching for jobs,” said Ali, “young people can create their own businesses by borrowing just a small amount of money if they are passionate about their future.”

The Smeda official clarified that someone stayed in a hostel in Islamabad.

“He opened his own hostel in the area, which then grew and expanded, and now he has many branches,” he said.

On the occasion, Mohammad Zada, a trainer, emphasized that there are numerous opportunities for the Shangla youth to go into start-up industries, particularly in the hospitality and agriculture sectors.
