Machinery group imports decreased by 4.34 percent

During the first six months of the current fiscal year, imports from the Machinery Category decreased by 4.34 per cent compared to the same timeframe of the previous year.

As per the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Friday, imports from the category of machinery fell from $4,433,056 in FY 2019-20 in the last fiscal year to $4,240,484 in the same period of the current financial year.

During the period from July to December 20 of this year, imports of construction and mining machinery decreased by 32,86 percent, worth $54,294, compared to imports valued at $80,871 over the same period last year, it added.

Meanwhile, imports from Electric Machinery and Appartus, worth $640,704, decreased by 46.26 percent compared to imports valued at $1,192,274 over the same period last year.

Other imports from Appartus decreased by 5.20 percent over the period under review, valuing imports of $216,637 compared to imports worth $228,509 over the same period last year.
