Sialkot’s Economic Contribution Recognized by Nepal Ambassador

In a noteworthy address to the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tapas Adhikari, the Ambassador of Nepal, lauded Sialkot as a pivotal hub in the manufacturing of sports goods, emphasizing the significant contribution of the local business community to the nation. Ambassador Adhikari acknowledged Sialkot’s vital role in the economic development of the country and commended the efforts of the local entrepreneurs.

Expressing his appreciation during the session, Ambassador Adhikari highlighted the upcoming Nepal Chamber Expo 2024 scheduled to take place from March 7-11, 2024, in Nepal. He encouraged the business community of Sialkot to actively participate in this event, particularly for engaging in productive Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings.

Furthermore, the Ambassador shared insights about the Nepal Investment Summit planned for April 27, 2024, in Nepal. He emphasized that this summit would present a significant opportunity for investors from Pakistan, fostering collaboration between the two nations. Ambassador Adhikari expressed admiration for Sialkot, considering it a role model city for the people of Nepal, foreseeing valuable lessons to be learned from the dynamic Sialkot business community.

Highlighting Nepal’s keen interest in exploring new opportunities in Pakistan, the envoy expressed optimism about the productive outcomes of the meeting, envisioning it as a catalyst for fostering cooperation and establishing new avenues for bilateral collaboration.

Welcoming the distinguished guest, Abdul Ghafoor Malik, President of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), underscored the longstanding cordial relations between Nepal and Pakistan. President Malik noted the 64-year history of strong bilateral ties, rooted in mutual respect, deep understanding, and a shared vision for peace and socio-economic progress in both nations.

President Malik urged both countries to intensify efforts to further enhance economic ties, emphasizing the vast potential waiting to be explored. The meeting concluded with a positive outlook on strengthening economic cooperation between Nepal and Pakistan.
