Omantel, the premier provider of integrated telecommunication services in the Sultanate of Oman, has proudly announced the appointment of Saleem bin Ahmed Abdullatiff as the Vice President of the Business Unit. With an impressive track record spanning over 30 years in marketing and Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Saleem brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
In his capacity as Vice President of the Business Unit, Saleem will spearhead the execution of the unit’s strategic initiatives. His key responsibilities include fortifying Omantel’s position as the foremost provider of integrated telecommunications services, cultivating and enhancing relationships with corporate clients, and elevating the overall customer experience. Saleem’s extensive knowledge of the fiercely competitive local telecommunications landscape positions him as a valuable asset for Omantel in navigating industry challenges and opportunities.
Saleem Abdullatiff embarked on his professional journey as an electrical engineer at the Muscat Municipality. Progressing through various roles, he ascended to the position of Privatization Director. In 2005, he joined Oman Mobile, the mobile business arm of Omantel at that time, where he assumed roles such as Distribution Channels Manager, Manager of Retail Sales, and General Manager of Direct Sales following the merger of Oman Mobile and Omantel. His leadership extended to the Consumer Unit, where he served as General Manager of Marketing. Saleem further contributed to the Omani business landscape by chairing and being a member of several boards of directors of companies under the Oman Investment Authority, including Muscat Electricity Distribution Company, Rural Areas Electricity Company, Infoline, and Future Cities (Tadoom).
Saleem Abdullatiff is a graduate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Sultan Qaboos University. He holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Project Management from the University of Manchester, UK.
