Nestlé Pakistan announces 2 new director appointments

Nestlé Pakistan, a leading name in the country’s food and beverage industry, has recently bolstered its board with the appointment of two esteemed directors, Angelo Giardini as Non-Executive Director, and Romana Abdullah as Independent Director.

Mr. Joselito Jr Avanceña, the Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Pakistan, expressed his enthusiasm about the new additions, stating, “On behalf of our Board of Directors, we are delighted to welcome Angelo and Romana as esteemed members of the board. Angelo’s extensive international experience across various markets, combined with Romana’s impressive track record in prestigious local and global firms, will undoubtedly enrich our board’s expertise and contribute significantly to our strategic decision-making process.”

Angelo Giardini brings a wealth of diverse experience, having worked across multiple continents, including Europe, India, and China, in various sectors such as dairy, confectionery, ice cream, food, and water. Currently serving as the Regional Manager for Africa, the Middle East, and South Asia, Angelo played a crucial role in the inception of the globally renowned Nestlé Pure Life brand in Pakistan two decades ago, marking a significant milestone in the company’s history. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance from the University of Commerciale ‘Luigi Bocconi’, Italy.

Romana Abdullah, the co-founder and CEO of Hopscotch, a prominent kidswear brand established in 2014, brings to the board a dynamic blend of entrepreneurial spirit and corporate expertise. Her distinguished career includes leadership roles at esteemed institutions such as MCB, Soneri Bank, the Boston Consulting Group, and Merrill Lynch Investment Banking in New York. Recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2016, Romana holds a BSc in Financial Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School, underscoring her exceptional educational background and professional acumen.

The addition of these accomplished professionals to the board reflects Nestlé Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing its leadership team with a diverse range of expertise and insights, ensuring the company’s continued success and innovation within the competitive food and beverage industry in Pakistan.
