Saudia Cargo appoints Loay Mashabi as Managing Director

Saudia Cargo, a leading player in the air cargo industry, has announced the appointment of Eng. Loay Mashabi as its Managing Director, with his tenure set to commence on 8th October 2023. Eng. Loay Mashabi brings a wealth of experience to this pivotal role, having previously served as the Deputy Minister for Logistics Services at the Ministry of Transportation and Logistics Services.

Eng. Loay Mashabi’s career is deeply rooted in the logistics sector, and he has played a crucial role in enhancing Saudi Arabia’s status as a global logistics hub. His professional journey spans both the private and government sectors, and he has also served as a board member of Saudia Cargo, the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), Riyadh Integrated (Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Storage), and the Saudi Exports Authority.

In his new capacity, Eng. Loay Mashabi will work closely with Teddy Zebitz, CEO of Saudia Cargo, to oversee various functions and strategic initiatives. Together, their goal is to propel Saudia Cargo towards even greater success and expansion, aiming to position the company among the world’s top 10 largest air cargo carriers in the years ahead.

Teddy Zebitz, CEO of Saudia Cargo, expressed his enthusiasm about Eng. Loay Mashabi’s appointment, stating, “We are thrilled to have Loay on board and to welcome him to the Saudia Cargo family. His background and extensive experience in the field will undoubtedly prove invaluable as we work towards achieving Saudia Cargo’s ambitious growth plans.”

Eng. Loay Mashabi also shared his thoughts on this career milestone, saying, “With this new chapter in my career, I am excited to continue serving the Saudi logistics sector and unlock its untapped potential. Saudia Cargo is undoubtedly the right place to accomplish significant milestones and position Saudi Arabia at the heart of the global logistics map.”

Eng. Loay Mashabi holds an Executive MBA from the London Business School and a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from King Fahd University.

This appointment signifies Saudia Cargo’s commitment to further strengthening its leadership team and expanding its global presence, marking a significant development in the world of air cargo logistics.
