Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has extended an invitation to US companies to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan’s burgeoning information technology (IT) sector. He made this call during a meeting with the United States Ambassador to Pakistan, Donald Blome, who recently called on the Prime Minister in Islamabad.
Ambassador Blome conveyed his congratulations to Prime Minister Kakar on assuming office and reiterated the United States’ commitment to supporting Pakistan’s economic and developmental agenda. In response, Prime Minister Kakar expressed his appreciation for the United States’ role in assisting Pakistan in stabilizing its economy and reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to continuing its reform agenda to achieve sustainable growth.
Prime Minister Kakar acknowledged the historical contributions of the US private sector in bolstering Pakistan’s economic growth. He expressed optimism that more US companies would explore investment prospects in Pakistan’s thriving IT sector.
Prime Minister Kakar emphasized that these ties are based on mutual respect, shared values, and common interests, highlighting the enduring and comprehensive nature of Pakistan-US relations. He commended the current positive trajectory of bilateral relations and conveyed the government’s commitment to further strengthening cooperation in vital areas such as trade, investment, energy, security, and climate change.
The Prime Minister underscored that the primary responsibility of the caretaker government is to support the Election Commission of Pakistan in the electoral process and ensure constitutional continuity during the democratic transition period.
Prime Minister Kakar also acknowledged the significant contributions of the Pakistani-American community in enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries. He called for increased people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and the United States.
