Ethiopian Airlines will launch direct flights between Karachi and Addis Ababa to Pakistan.

For the purpose of bolstering economic ties between Pakistan and Ethiopia, Ethiopian Airlines will operate four weekly flights between Karachi and Addis Ababa.

Ambassador Jamal Bakir Abdullah stated at a press conference at the Karachi Press Club that the direct flights will promote trade and tourism in addition to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

According to him, the Ethiopian foreign minister and a 10-member delegation will arrive in Karachi on the inaugural voyage of Ethiopian Airlines on Tuesday. He added that Ethiopia is a significant market that attracts commerce from Pakistani companies in a variety of sectors, including pharmaceuticals, surgical instruments, and others.

Abdullah thanked the Pakistani government for contributing significantly to the restoration of air connections.

In addition, the Ethiopian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Misganu Arega, will visit Pakistan for three days from May 9 to 11.

During the visit, the Ethiopian foreign minister would inaugurate the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad and Ethiopian Airlines’ direct flights between Karachi and Addis Ababa.

The Ethiopian MoS for Foreign Affairs and Hina Rabbani Khar, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, are scheduled to establish the Embassy of Ethiopia in Islamabad.
