KIA Corporation clarified on Thursday that Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) is the sole licensee of KIA to manufacture, assemble, market, distribute, and sell KIA cars and SUVs in Pakistan, according to the company’s filings with the stock exchange.

According to the general agreement between KIA, LMC, and KD Supply for technical collaboration, KD Supply has the sole permission to sell KIA automobiles and SUVs in Pakistan.

Prior to this, a deal was inked between Deewan Farooq Motors Limited and KIA’s “Special Vehicle Division,” which is exclusive to special-purpose commercial vehicles such as PU (Bongo).

KIA elaborated, “DFML is not permitted to construct any other Kia automobiles or Kia sport utility vehicles in Pakistan as long as Kia and LMC maintain CKD operations in Pakistan.”

In addition, KIA commended and applauded LMC’s efforts to make the KIA brand successful in Pakistan.

With a long-term strategic commercial collaboration between KIA and LMC, the Company is certain that the KIA brand will soon become one of Pakistan’s most successful brands.
