Pakistan Post has launched Amazon fulfilment centres in a number of major cities, including Islamabad, in an effort to increase the country’s online commerce.
According to Pakistan Post, the centres have been established in general post offices across the country in Islamabad, Peshawar, Karachi, Gujrat, Multan, Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Faisalabad with all the necessary infrastructure for collecting and scanning sellers’ products for delivery to Amazon warehouses worldwide. According to officials, the programme will enhance e-commerce in the country and exports.
They stated that the Pakistan Post would transfer vendors’ wares from their doorstep to Amazon’s different warehouses.
The officials stated that the Pakistan Post office has been formally authorised as the global e-commerce giant’s delivery partner. They stated that the effort will help develop e-commerce in Pakistan and enhance exports, adding that Pakistani items would now be available to millions of people worldwide.
