REAP’s ‘Virtual Rice Expo 2021’ gets overwhelming response

The first-ever Virtual Rice Expo 2021, organised by the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP), received an extraordinary response, with over 1500 individuals from 75 countries registering.

Due of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, rice exporters are unable to travel or attend trade shows abroad. REAP is the first association in Pakistan to host the first-ever Virtual REAP Rice Expo 2021 on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 to promote Pakistani rice exports.

The expo’s opening ceremony was held at REAP House Karachi in the presence of the association’s office bearers and leadership.

Chairman REAP Abdul Qayum Paracha, Ex-Chairmen Rafique Suleman and Abdul Rahim Janoo, Convener REAP Committee Faisal Anis, Deputy Convener Farhat Rasheed, and Faisal Choudhary Member Managing Committee (MC) REAP were in attendance, while those connected via Zoom video link included Malik Faisal Jahangir, Senior Vice Chairman, Shahzad Ali Malik and Ch Samee Ullah Naeem,

Trade and Investment Counsellors appointed in Pakistan’s embassies in a number of countries have extended their support and arranged for invitations to rice importers in their nations.

REAP has elicited an outpouring of support from all corners of the globe. Over 1500 individuals from 75 countries submitted registration applications. Over 400 international participants were registered and attended this Expo. Additionally, REAP invited a number of eminent international speakers to share their experience with the attendees.

National Food Authority (NFA) Philippines, V Subramanian, M/s. The Rice Traders (TRT) Singapore, Heshmati Poor, Managing Director M/s ETKA Organization Iran, and Abdul Razzaq Khuraiji, CEO M/s. Al Shawnee Rice Trading Saudi Arabia were among the prominent participants

Due to the event’s unique nature, it has become one of the most successful in REAP’s history.

REAP hoped that participants would take advantage of the motivating keynote speakers and the unmatched networking opportunities between Pakistani exhibitors and international buyers. “We will see a significant increase in Pakistan’s rice exports to a number of countries around the world,” they said.

REAP also wishes to express its gratitude to the Ministry of Commerce, the Government of Pakistan, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), and the Trade and Investment/Commercial Counsellors in all Pakistani Embassies/High Commissions for their contributions to the success of this event.
