Govt of Punjab Plans to Promote Chip Technology in Nine Universities

Punjab’s Minister for Higher Education, Raja Yassir Humayun Sarfraz, has announced that the government intends to promote chip technology at nine universities in the province.

The minister made the announcement as a special guest at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) during a seminar titled “Skills Development in Micro and Nanoelectronics Design Technologies in Punjabi Universities.”

When asked about the possibility of integrating microchips and nanochips with universities in Pakistan, he said the provincial government intends to promote the technology at nine well-known universities, with UET Lahore leading the way.

In addition to the UET Lahore campus, other institutes such as UET Taxila, ITU Lahore, and Islamia University Bahawalpur will help promote chip technology in Punjab.
