Punjab’s Chief Minister, Sardar Usman Buzdar, has approved the development of 30 new tourist destinations in the province. As soon as the project is completed, it is expected to provide jobs for 20,000 people, as well as a high tourist attendance that could generate up to Rs. 100 billion in annual revenue.

According to sources, the ruins of ancient historical sites along the Indus Valley strip, Harappa, Kotli Sattian, Narh, and other venues across the Northern Punjab block will be constructed in phases.

The project is part of the new Tourism for Economic Development Program, and it seeks to serve a wide variety of people in order to revitalise the economy. It will include a number of facilities, such as roads and hotels, that will be developed or improved as required to encourage tourism.

Aside from socioeconomic growth, the new project aims to divert tourists from famous northern destinations like Nathiagali, Murree, and Bhurban to 12 or 14 newly developed areas in Punjab, including the Salt Range, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Mianwali.
