Turkey’s Trade Attache, Eyup Yildirim, said that Turkey would provide full support to Pakistani businessmen for the opening of business offices in Turkey and that this would be a step between the two countries under the Strategic Economic Front (SEF).
Responding to various questions from the members of the Pakistan Yarn Merchants Association (PYMA) Executive Committee during a meeting, he said that the proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Turkey and Pakistan and the MoU are key developments in bilateral trade and will meet the demands presented by the PYMA.
The Turkish Consulate in Karachi and the PYMA have also agreed on joint efforts to strengthen bilateral trade and investment ties.
New opportunities for investment in different sectors of the economy will be explored in this regard, and attention will also be paid to trade delegations’ exchanges.
He further claimed that Turkey and Pakistan would work together to promote the yarn, cloth and textile industries, while measures would be taken on a quarterly basis for meetings between entrepreneurs from both countries.
In addition, B2B meetings will be organized between businessmen from Turkey and Pakistan after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Senior Vice-President M. Hanif Lakhany and PYMA Vice-President Farhan Ashrafi described the role of the Consulate as significant in promoting bilateral trade and ensuring easy access to Turkish markets, including visas for yarn traders.
They claimed that it was important to exchange details of Turkey’s economic zone and incentives provided to foreign investors in terms of foreign investment, as well as to exchange details of yarns, fabrics, textile manufacturers, importers and exporters.
It is also worth describing the process for setting up business offices in Turkey.
