CMA approves Hani Al Awadhi as CEO of Gulf Capital Investment Company

In a strategic move to nurture indigenous leadership, the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) has given the green light to the appointment of Mr. Hani Al Awadhi as the Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Capital Investment Company (Invest GB). The move underlines CMA’s dedication to promoting local talents in pivotal roles within the financial landscape.

Mr. Hani Al Awadhi, currently serving as the General Manager of Investment at Gulf Bank, brings to his new role over two decades of extensive experience in the realms of both local and international investment. His career trajectory includes significant roles in renowned institutions, domestically and internationally.

Before his tenure at Gulf Bank, Al Awadhi held influential positions such as the Head of Managed Funds and Acting Head of GCC Equities at Gulf Investment Corporation (GIC). In these roles, he spearheaded global investments spanning hedge funds, private equity, real estate, and infrastructure. Al Awadhi played a crucial part in establishing and maintaining one of the region’s most extensive hedge fund investment programs.

His career milestones include contributing to the successful listing of Shamal Az-Zour Company on Boursa Kuwait. Known for his acumen in corporate governance, Mr. Al Awadhi occupies several directorial positions on various boards.

Actively engaged in the financial landscape, Al Awadhi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the esteemed Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University. His wealth of expertise in developing, implementing, and monitoring alternative investment portfolios positions him as a key figure in steering Gulf Capital Investment Company towards its strategic objectives.
