U Microfinance Bank has proudly announced the appointment of Mr. Mohamed Essa Al Taheri as the Acting President & CEO of U Bank, ushering in a new era of leadership for the esteemed financial institution.
Mr. Al Taheri’s association with U Bank spans his tenure as a Member of the Board of Directors, alongside his role as the Group EVP for Financial Policies and Systems at e& Group. With a Master’s degree in International Business from the University of Wollongong, Dubai, he brings over 20 years of comprehensive professional experience, garnered from his time at renowned institutions such as HSBC Bank, Dubai Commercial Bank, and the Development Board of Dubai Government.
This appointment follows the departure of Mr. Kabeer Naqvi, the former President & CEO of U Bank, who left a commendable legacy of progress and innovation during his tenure. Mr. Naqvi, who had been a pivotal figure at U Bank since 2015, played a significant role in fostering impactful changes within Pakistan’s microfinance landscape.
