The Saudi Tourism Authority is set to unveil the Nusuk travel planning and booking app in Pakistan on Tuesday, following the signing of an agreement between Islamabad and Riyadh to boost tourism and increase flight connectivity between the two nations.
Nusuk, Saudi Arabia’s official travel planning, booking, and experience platform for organizing Hajj or Umrah itineraries, not only to Makkah and Madinah but also to other destinations, marks the kingdom’s first such offering. This innovative app allows travelers from around the world to seamlessly coordinate their entire visit to Saudi Arabia, from eVisa applications to hotel and flight bookings.
The official launch event is scheduled to take place in Karachi and will be presided over by Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, who arrived in Pakistan on a four-day visit along with a high-level delegation. The delegation includes deputy ministers of Hajj and Umrah, tourism, and international cooperation, the president of Saudi Airlines, representatives from the general authority of civil aviation, and other key figures from Saudi Aviation.
In addition to Saudi officials, the event will be attended by representatives from Pakistan’s business community and Hajj and Umrah tour operators.
Furqan Abdul Kadir, the convener of the Central Standing Committee on Hajj and Umrah at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), emphasized the significance of the Nusuk platform’s launch in line with Saudi Vision 2030. This vision aims to open Saudi Arabia to the world through increased tourism.
Kadir noted that the launch would facilitate direct access to multiple Saudi cities for tourists, making it more convenient for Pakistanis to travel to the Kingdom. Beyond the ease of obtaining Saudi visas, he highlighted the potential for enhanced interactions between the people of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, strengthening the bilateral relationship.
Tourism development is a critical driver of Saudi Arabia’s economic growth and diversification, in alignment with the Vision 2030 plan. Established entities like the Ministry of Tourism, the Saudi Tourism Authority, and the Tourism Development Fund exemplify the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering tourism growth in line with international standards.
The Nusuk app launch coincides with a recent agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia to boost flight connectivity, a move that is expected to contribute to reduced travel costs, as stated by Dr. Al-Rabiah.
