Air Link Communication Ltd. is set to embark on a significant venture by commencing the assembly of Xiaomi televisions in Pakistan starting in January 2024. This strategic move has garnered attention and reflects the evolving landscape of the company’s operations.

Muzzaffar Hayat Piracha, the CEO of Air Link, revealed insightful details about this venture in a recent report by Bloomberg. He underscored the collaborative partnership established between Air Link and Xiaomi two years ago, which initially focused on the distribution of mobile phones across Pakistan.

A notable aspect of this new development is the shared investment process between Air Link and Xiaomi. The assembly lines for both televisions and mobile phones exhibit remarkable similarities, thereby streamlining the transition into television assembly.

Air Link’s journey in the market has been characterized by progress and adaptability. The company has transformed from a break-even state to achieving profitability over the last six months. This resilience and strategic prowess have played a crucial role in the company’s success, as highlighted by Piracha.

Having originated as a mobile phone distributor just over a decade ago, Air Link has achieved significant milestones in its journey. Notably, it spearheaded Pakistan’s largest private sector initial public offering in 2021, making a mark in the country’s business landscape.

Piracha, in discussing the company’s achievements, also outlined Air Link’s ambitious objectives. The company aims to escalate its monthly mobile phone production to an impressive 500,000 units by the end of the year. This target surpasses the current rate of 300,000 units, underlining Air Link’s determination to drive growth and make substantial contributions to Pakistan’s technology sector.

As Air Link and Xiaomi embark on the journey of television assembly, this strategic move showcases the companies’ commitment to innovation, local manufacturing, and contributing to Pakistan’s economic progress. The shared vision of these two industry leaders bodes well for the future of technology and manufacturing in the region.
