The Federation of Saudi Chambers (FSC) is actively considering the establishment of an office in Sao Paulo, according to Waleed Al-Orainan, the assistant secretary-general of FSC. During his visit to the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Sao Paulo, Al-Orainan discussed potential collaborations and partnerships between Saudi Arabia and Brazil.

Accompanied by Mishal bin Hithlain, Chairman of the Saudi Brazilian Business Council, and a delegation of Saudi officials, Al-Orainan highlighted the Kingdom’s interest in expanding its economic ties with Brazil. The proposed office in Sao Paulo aims to facilitate trade missions and strengthen business interactions between the two nations.

Mishal bin Hithlain emphasized the importance of mutual understanding and business culture exchange between the private sectors of both countries. He stressed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to diversifying its economy and promoting giga-projects such as NEOM, The Line, and Qiddiya, which offer significant business prospects.

The delegation expressed their enthusiasm for increased visits between businesspeople from Saudi Arabia and Brazil, aiming to foster collaboration and strategic partnerships. They discussed potential joint activities, such as seminars and lectures, to educate businesses about operating in both nations.

President of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, Osmar Chohfi, welcomed the Saudi delegation, highlighting the potential for bilateral collaboration in various sectors, including halal products, tourism, fashion, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals.

Sustainability also emerged as a key topic, with discussions centering around potential joint agendas in light of COP28 scheduled in Dubai later this year. This could offer Brazilian companies the opportunity to explore the Saudi market following the event.

As Saudi Arabia and Brazil seek to strengthen their economic ties, the potential establishment of an FSC office in Sao Paulo could serve as a pivotal step towards greater collaboration, trade, and investment between the two nations.
