Al Rayan Bank, the UK’s oldest and most successful Islamic bank, has marked a significant milestone with the official opening of its new London head office. The grand opening ceremony took place in West London and was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including Fahad bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, Qatar’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, Sheikh Hamad bin Faisal bin Thani al-Thani, vice-chairman of Masraf Al Rayan, Fahad bin Abdulla al-Khalifa, GCEO of Al Rayan Bank, and Michael Williams, Chairman of Al Rayan Bank.

The event celebrated the transformative effect of the new head office, which spans an impressive 10,000 square feet. The office space brings together Al Rayan Bank’s London teams for the first time, enhancing their ability to serve customers efficiently. The opening ceremony was attended by key clients and board members from both Al Rayan Bank (UK) and its parent bank in Qatar, Masraf Al Rayan.

Located in the prestigious Stratford Place W1C, the five-floor building, dating back to the 18th century, was acquired by Al Rayan Bank in 2022. Following an extensive renovation, the space now offers grade-A office facilities and maintains its original features, combining modern functionality with timeless charm.

Sheikh Hamad bin Faisal bin Thani al-Thani expressed the significance of the new head office, stating, “The opening of this new head office represents a significant milestone in our journey and solidifies Al Rayan Bank’s position as the leading provider of Islamic finance in the UK. Importantly, this Grade A office space will also bring our London teams together under one roof for the first time, fostering collaboration and synergy and allowing us to better serve our customers.”

Fahad bin Abdulla al-Khalifa highlighted the importance of the new headquarters for Masraf Al Rayan Group, emphasizing its role in strengthening the institution’s international presence and ability to cater to customers’ needs. He remarked, “This cutting-edge facility exemplifies our unwavering dedication to delivering unparalleled service and excellence to our valued customers.”

Michael Williams underscored the significance of the new head office as a symbol of growth and commitment to customers. He noted, “Our new head office represents more than just an impressive physical space – it is a flagship for the wider group, evidencing our commitment to growth and serving our customers with utmost dedication.”

The state-of-the-art head office will provide a range of banking services, including commercial and premier banking, and will serve as the base for the bank’s board and executive management teams. The space will also facilitate collaboration between colleagues from Masraf Al Rayan and the operational office in Birmingham, fostering teamwork and creativity. Additionally, the office boasts an exclusive customer lounge and an impressive roof terrace offering panoramic views of London’s West End.
