Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) CEO Sheikh Nawaf Saud Al-Nasser Al-Sabah has emphasized that carbon dioxide emissions associated with the extraction and production of Kuwaiti oil are the lowest globally. Sheikh Nawaf made this statement during his participation in the international symposium on energy organized by OPEC, highlighting the quality of Kuwaiti oil and the precision of KPC’s operations.

Speaking to KUNA and Kuwait TV, Sheikh Nawaf underscored the significance of KPC’s presence at the OPEC International Seminar, which serves to showcase the corporation’s expertise in oil extraction. Kuwaiti oil holds a pivotal position in the global energy landscape and plays a crucial role in worldwide energy transformation. He also expressed Kuwait’s commitment to securing clean energy for international markets and stressed that the country will play a significant role in the global energy transition alongside other Gulf oil-producing nations in the coming decades.

Furthermore, Sheikh Nawaf stated that KPC has already commenced its plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, aligning with the United Nations’ guidance. Kuwait is dedicated to this goal and is implementing a comprehensive plan to accomplish it. The commitment to carbon neutrality falls within the framework of Kuwait’s well-thought-out plan currently underway.

As KPC continues to prioritize environmental sustainability, Sheikh Nawaf’s remarks highlight Kuwait’s efforts to minimize carbon emissions in its oil production activities. By emphasizing the corporation’s commitment to clean energy and its proactive approach to reducing its carbon footprint, Kuwait aims to contribute to global efforts in combating climate change and fostering a more sustainable energy future.
