Google has announced the launch of its first-ever App Growth Lab in Pakistan, building on the success of last year’s Gaming Growth Lab.

The App Growth Lab is a four-month programme designed to identify app developers, studios, and businesses with the potential to expand and thrive. With an emphasis on intensive education and support, the programme will offer participants the chance to learn from Google experts and industry leaders in areas such as Ads, AdMob, Firebase, gTech, and Play.

Launching the App development Lab is part of Google’s commitment to fostering the local and international development of Pakistan’s app industry. Google’s Regional Director for Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, Farhan S. Qureshi, stated, “Today, we are pleased to announce the launch of App Growth Lab to support local developers and assist them in expanding their offerings to an international audience. This initiative exemplifies Google’s commitment to fostering the sustainable growth of the developer ecosystem in the country. Through our ongoing efforts, we aim to assist Pakistani developers in their efforts to create world-class applications.”

The four pillars of the App Growth Lab programme are Build, Develop, Launch, and Scale. The Build pillar focuses on revealing the global app and gaming opportunity in order to comprehend the various mechanisms that influence the company’s overall strategy. The Develop pillar focuses on developing app and game products with a user-centric perspective and utilising best-in-class technology to ensure the app’s long-term success. The Launch pillar focuses on identifying strategies to win the launch, establish monetization models, and maximise Google’s data tools for measurable growth. Lastly, the Scale pillar focuses on globalising the application through market and platform diversification techniques.

The CEO of Game District, Saad Hameed, lauded the Gaming Growth Lab initiative, stating, “The Gaming Growth Lab Pakistan 2022 was one of the most enlightening programmes that Game District has ever attended. We have acquired a wealth of knowledge encompassing all domains of the mobile gaming industry, from fundamentals to advanced. We have improved the efficacy of our games by implementing the intuitive knowledge we gained from this programme.”

The four-month App Growth Lab programme will begin in June and conclude in August. The application deadline for interested organisations and app and development studios is May 22, 2023. The programme provides Pakistani developers with a one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn from Google experts and industry executives, enabling them to reach a larger audience and create world-class applications. Google’s commitment to nurturing the expansion of Pakistan’s app industry bodes well for the future of local app developers and businesses.
