A five-person Google delegation has met with important government officials from the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, Ministry of Commerce, and Ministry of Law and Justice.

In these sessions, sources told ProPakistani, the development of a compliance office in Islamabad and investment potential were discussed.

The delegation led by Kyle Gardner, manager of public policy in South Asia, visited with top MoITT officials, such as Secretary IT Mohsin Mushtaq and Member IT Syed Junaid Imam.

According to MoITT, Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunications Syed Aminul Haq wants Google to open a compliance office in Islamabad so that it may be instantly referred to in the event of a dispute.

MoITT is in contact with Google, Facebook, and other corporations regarding the establishment of offices in Pakistan. By creating a compliance office in Pakistan, Google and other businesses will become familiar with Pakistan’s local laws and values.

The Google delegation met with Pakistani officials from the Ministry of IT, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Law and Justice to examine new investment potential. Previously, the Google group met with authorities from the Punjab IT Board in Lahore to discuss Google certification and other projects.

In recent years, Google has launched multiple efforts in Pakistan. Google launched career certificates in September to provide Pakistanis with flexible learning routes. Google introduced a suicide hotline in Pakistan in June 2022 to address suicide instances and mental health challenges.
