Jazz, Ericsson collaborate to boost digital skills in Pakistan

Jazz, the top digital operator in Pakistan, has teamed with Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) to enhance the digital capabilities of its entrepreneurial community in Pakistan through the Ericsson Educate initiative, with the goal of accelerating local innovation, according to a statement made on Monday.

This one-year agreement is part of Jazz xlr8, Pakistan’s flagship business accelerator, and aims to strengthen Ericsson and Jazz’s commitment to improve the nation’s digital capabilities and expand access to education.

Jazz will promote the portal locally through its own youth-oriented programmes and seek to upskill local talent and increase youngsters’ job-readiness in the telecom and ICT sectors.

The Ericsson Educate platform will enhance the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) abilities of selected youngsters via a well-curated online course on 21st-century technologies such as 5G networks, Internet of Things (IoT), automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML). Upon successful completion of the course, participants will earn digital badges of recognition authorised by Ericsson, enhancing their résumés on the job market.

Jazz’s Chief Digital Officer, Aamer Ejaz, commented on this significant milestone, stating, “We are happy to cooperate with Ericsson to enhance digital skills among Pakistan’s young and entrepreneurs. Ericsson Educate’s inclusive, scalable, and user-friendly nature will enable us to provide participants with access to high-quality instructional content on some of the most disruptive digital technologies reshaping the nation today.”

Aamir Ahsan Khan, President and Country Manager of Ericsson Pakistan, stated, “By leveraging our strong global expertise in the industry 4.0 space, Ericsson will also support Jazz to conduct webinars led by Ericsson experts focusing on emerging and next-generation technologies, providing participants with valuable insights on how to thrive in the digital age.”

Through close partnership with Jazz, the Ericsson Educate initiative will provide sufficient and inclusive learning opportunities to enhance the digital skills of Pakistan’s young and entrepreneurs, thereby boosting the country’s digital development.
