State Bank of Pakistan launched a “Whistle Blowing Forum” to identify illegal foreign exchange transactions.
The general public may utilise the email address WhistleBlowing.FX@sbp.org.pk to report any unauthorised foreign exchange activities to the SBP, according to a statement.
The email can also be used to report any exchange company that failed to provide a system-generated receipt for a currency exchange transaction.
The SBP regulates foreign exchange business in the country under the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947. Under the Act, the central bank has authorised twenty-six “A” category exchange companies and twenty “B” category exchange companies to engage in foreign exchange business, including the sale and purchase of foreign currency notes.
