Trade and industrial cooperation between China and Pakistan under the umbrella of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is intended to make Pakistan a manufacturing and economic hub for the entire region, Commercial Counselor, Pakistan Embassy in China, Ghulam Qadir has said.

Speaking to the audience at the “China-Pakistan Trade and Industrial Cooperation Forum,” which was co-hosted by the Pakistani Embassy in China, United Bank Limited (UBL), Beijing Innovation Alliance (BJIA), and Economic and Commercial Counselors Alliance in China, he declared that Pakistan was prepared to serve as a food source for China.

He claimed that Pakistan possessed all the elements necessary to establish itself as a regional hub and that by producing goods that are “made in Pakistan,” Pakistan wanted to expand investment, trade, and economic ties.

We are bringing our businesses to connect with Chinese e-commerce platforms, he continued, and we are also working on various e-commerce platforms.

Ghulam Qadir emphasized the significance of the forum by remarking that this kind of gathering would facilitate communication between Pakistani and Chinese businesses.

“In the meanwhile, we may raise our yields by utilizing Chinese techniques and technologies. The finished products can potentially be sent to China and other countries, he said.

Ghulam Qadir told CEN that he was convinced that Pakistan could supply China with food because it has fertile terrain, a young population, and a wealth of resources that could be used to expand its agricultural sector.

In addition, he said that Pakistan’s Exceptional Economic Zones (SEZs) provided Chinese and other foreign businesses with special incentives and a business-friendly atmosphere.
