It has been decided that banks and microfinance banks (MFBs) shall open selected branches on Friday, July 8, 2022, beginning at 9:00 a.m., in order to ensure the availability of banking services to trade and industry, in particular, and the general public, during the extended holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha 4:00 pm. According to a circular released by the State Bank of Pakistan, these properties are located around the nation close to ports, business hubs, significant cities, commercial markets, and markets for cattle.
It should be noted that the aforementioned date will not have Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) System or Clearing through National Institutional Facilitation Technologies (NIFT) available. Thus, on the following working day, or Wednesday, July 13, 2022, all clearing transactions—including those involving currency conversion—will be settled.
Banks and MFBs must make sure that these branches have the bare minimum of staff on hand to conduct business as usual on the aforementioned date.
