The largest digital freight network in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region has announced the official acquisition of Pakistani startup TruckSher in order to further expand its land freight business.
TruKKer currently operates a fleet of over 35,000 trucks across its primary markets of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt, among others. Additionally, it operates in 17 locations throughout the MENA region. According to a statement about TruckSher, the company began operations in Pakistan earlier in 2021 with seed funding from Sarmayacar and has since grown significantly in the domestic Pakistan long haul sector.
“In a short period of time, TruckSher has built a strong client base in the commodities, fast-moving consumer goods, and electronics sectors as a result of its emphasis on operational excellence and compliance.”
According to Anish Garg, Chief Operating Officer of TruKKer, “we have been conducting feasibility and analysis of the Pakistan land freight sector for some time now and are very excited about the opportunity for digitization and technology adaptation in this fragmented and traditional sector.”
He continued, “Success requires a strong team focused on growth, operational excellence, and a passion for the opportunity that technology presents to create long-term efficiencies.” We are delighted to welcome the TruckSher team to TruKKer and to help them continue to lead Pakistan’s land freight sector, fueled by our advanced engineering products and processes.”
Additionally, Abid Butt, Managing Director of TruckSher, stated, “We are extremely excited to work with TruKKer and look forward to accelerating our growth in Pakistan and learning from the success achieved in the MENA region.”
