Aisha Sarwari has been named as the new Director, Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability for the Pakistan and Afghanistan area by the Coca-Cola Export Corporation of Pakistan. She joins at a time when the Company has identified Pakistan as its largest market in the country, as well as a time when the Company is undergoing a global transformation to instil a flat and streamlined structure that maximises enterprise efficiency in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Aisha has over 18 years of leadership experience in marketing, public relations, and sustainability through a variety of business sectors and the public sector. Her early career was spent in the United States, where she worked for international news organisations such as CNN and National Public Radio. Her advisory and programmatic work has taken her to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the United States Institute of Peace, and the World Bank. Previously, she worked for Adam Smith International, USAID, the Punjab Board of Investment, and most recently, Jazz.
“Aisha’s extensive experience and expertise meet the prerequisites for this critical leadership position, especially in light of the pandemic, and will prove to be an asset for the company as it explores new modes of storytelling for the Coca-Cola brand. Along with her two published books, Aisha has worked as an opinion leader in Pakistan and abroad for several years, raising consciousness about the importance of economic advancement for women. Her opinion pieces have appeared in The Guardian, BBC World, and National Public Radio. She has been a frequent contributor to The Express Tribune and Dawn.com in Pakistan. She holds a Dean’s Scholar degree in media and communication from San Jose State University in California and is currently based in Islamabad.
