Pakistan's Organic Meat Company gets approval to Export beef to China

The Chinese customs authorities have given permission to Pakistan’s meat processing firm, The Organic Meat Company Ltd. (TOMCL), to export heat-treated beef to China.

“We are pleased to inform you that The Organic Meat Company Limited has obtained approvals from Chinese customs authorities and has been granted registration for the export of heat treated beef meat to the People’s Republic of China,” TOMCL said in a statement on Friday.

The firm claims to have developed the heat treatment method for eliminating the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) virus from beef meat. It went on to say, “This process will allow us to enter more markets for value-added meat products.”

After being awarded a US$ 3.9 million contract to supply frozen boneless meat to the Middle East’s largest food processor in December, The Organic Meat Company Ltd became the first company from Pakistan to be licenced by a global food processing company for the supply of meat from Pakistan.

The Organic Meat Company Ltd. is a high-quality Halal meat processor and exporter that was founded in 2010. New chilled beef and mutton, as well as frozen boneless meat, were the company’s first two items when it opened in 2011. TOMCL is also the first and only company in Saudi Arabia to be licenced by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) to export frozen meat by sea.
