The provincial government has set aside Rs. 130 billion to promote quality education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to Shahram Khan Tarakai, the province’s Minister of Education.
He said this on Friday at a function in Kohat, adding that the government has introduced cutting-edge technology in the education sector in line with international standards.
According to the minister, the provincial government is committed to improving education in the province’s rural areas, and Rs. 3 billion has been set aside for school and college furniture.
Minister Tarakai earlier on Wednesday told UNICEF and UNDP delegations led by Canadian High Commissioner Wendy Gilmore that the government is introducing smart school systems to promote IT skills among womenfolk so that they can get decent jobs while at home.
