PTC gets six Global Diversity and Inclusion Awards

At the Global Diversity & Inclusion Benchmarks (GDIB) meeting, Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited (PTC) received six Global Diversity and Inclusion Awards. Waqas Ahmed Khan, PTC’s Head of Human Resources, and Beenish Kajani, Senior Human Resources Officer, accepted the awards.

Diversity Hub Pakistan hosts these awards every year with the aim of encouraging progressive organizations to align Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) with organizational policies and processes for long-term financial and social success, as well as recognizing organizations that meet GDIB’s rigorous criteria and benchmarks in the D&I space.

Last year, PTC received 5 GDIB Awards; however, this year, PTC received 6 awards in the following D&I categories: Vision, Leadership, Structure, Recruitment and Growth, Learning and Education, and Communication, and Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited was ranked 5th nationally out of 30 companies evaluated, including multinational organizations operating in the country.

Waqas Ahmed Khan, who spoke at the ceremony, said that in order to get the most out of diversity, we are working hard to create an inclusive community in which differences of opinion, thinking, and history are not only recognized but valued.

“In terms of gender diversity and building the right work climate to bring out the best of our diverse talent, we have made tremendous progress. This is reflected in our strong talent brand and our ability to export great talent from PTC to senior positions all over the world,” he continued.

PTC’s Managing Director, Ali Akbar, expressed his gratitude for receiving these awards, stating that as responsible corporate citizens in Pakistan, we play a role in fostering inclusion by providing job opportunities to people of various cultures and backgrounds. One of our core ethos that drives PTC’s transformation into a better tomorrow is diversity and inclusion.
