The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) and Future AgriTech Pvt. Ltd. (a subsidiary of Tufail Group-TG) have partnered to empower Pakistan’s youth in food science, technology, and security through study, training, education, and start-up support to resolve future food demands and challenges.
IoBM and TG have formed a strategic partnership to collaborate on a project called “The Farm.” They will focus their academic and research efforts on easily deployable, long-term sustainable systems for growing vegetables, fruits, and plants. Precision cultivation and vertical farming can be used to their full potential. IoBM has donated 1,000 square yards of land on its campus to TG in order to help them construct a cutting-edge agri-tech plant, research centre, and urban forest.
Chancellor of IoBM Bashir Janmohammad stated that IoBM is joining this partnership to fully support the nations’ future agricultural needs. Food security, according to Zubair Tufail, CEO of Tufail Group, is the future for our societies that we must seek in the face of food shortages and inflation.
According to Talib Karim, President of IoBM, the agri-tech lab is a CSR initiative, and as a university, IoBM will contribute to youth and community education. This initiative, according to Salman Tufail, Director of Tufail Group, would support the government through policymaking.
Salman Mahmud, CEO of Future Agritech, is optimistic that the youth will be able to find work in this sector. According to Mazhar Kabir, Director of Future Agritech, this project will encourage young women to join the agricultural industry.
