The Pakistani government recently welcomed the first French-made vehicle into the country. Lucky Motors wanted to import a European-designed crossover SUV, the Peugeot 2008, into Pakistan.
The vehicle in question is a B-segment subcompact crossover SUV branded as “Peugeot 2008”, and it is a second-generation model, having debuted in 2019.
The entire Common Modular Platform, which is designed and built by the company, is powered by up to 1.2-liter turbocharged and 3-cylinder engine, and it comes as two vehicles – one with a 6-speed manual transmission and the other with an 8-speed full automatic transmission.
Lucky Motors intends to use these imported SUV units for the trial, where they will be tested in Pakistan. Also, the French crossover SUV is anticipated to compete in Pakistan’s SUV market with two of its rivals. In official records, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, MG HS, DFSK Glory 580 Pro, and Proton X70 are the competitors.
