Federal Minister of Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed said Pakistan Post had developed more than 1,000 Digital Franchise Post Offices (DFPOs) in over 130 cities and towns across the country.
Speaking at a ceremony at Islamabad’s Postal Workers College on Monday, he said the DFPOs are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and have a comprehensive digital platform to streamline bookings, track real-time articles and delivery.
He added that 10,000 more digital franchise acquisition applications have been submitted.
The Federal Minister said this initiative would open up new markets and much wider access to small-scale companies, the cottage industry and Pakistani artisans through massive outreach, maximizing their market potential.
He said that domestic and foreign remittances are on the rise in the country.
Murad claimed that when the PTI came into power, Pakistan Post was facing losses of Rs60 billion. But now the revenues of the Pakistan Post have increased dramatically under the current government,” he added.”
